C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons

C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons is a 140-year-old jewelry company in India, founded by Cotha Krishniah Chetty in 1869. In 1880, he moved his operations and started to create jewelry, as opposed to simply sourcing gems and gold. He moved his established to larger premises, and his jewelry designs found patronage in the Royal families of Mysore, Sandur and Travancore, who became a part of his discerning clientele. His reputation grew even among the British community, who were then the colonizers of India.
C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons designed the official seal of Mysore State (now Karnataka).
